I am committed to creating a world where women and girls can live free from violence and have the opportunity to realize their full potential. Through advocacy, research, and a survivor-centered approach, I strive to influence policy changes and ensure accountability at all levels.
Background:
Loveness Mudzuru has actively and notably contributed to addressing Gender Based Violence, child protection issues, and women and girls’ rights issues in a holistic manner. She has lobbied for a survivor-centered approach, psychological methods, and translating research into action. Her professional journey includes leading projects to strengthen accountability towards ending violence against women and girls within AU Member States, ensuring increased investments and political will.
She was the Research and Advocacy Associate (2021-2023) at Rozaria Memorial Trust leading research on Child Marriage in Humanitarian Setting a multiyear initiative that led to the development of a Feminist Vision for Ending Child Marriage in East Africa RoadMap 2023-2027, she was the direct donor engagement contact with the partners Kings College London and Women’s Refugee Commission for the project. She disseminated and advocated using the evidence from the research at platforms that include the Experts Meeting: Data and Research on FGM, March 2022, Nairobi, Kenya and the Girls Not Brides Africa Action Group Workshop July 2023, Nairobi.
She acted as the assistant to the AU Goodwill Ambassador on Ending Child Marriages (AUGWA) and led the research to the development of the AUGWA Exit Report (2023). She successfully disseminated the research at the African Committee of Experts on the rights and welfare of the child 42nd session.

Current Projects:
Loveness is currently leading the ‘Strengthening Accountability towards Ending Violence Against Women and Girls (EVAWG)’ project in AU Member States, aiming to contribute towards the adoption of the AU Convention on EVAWG.
She is also involved in the ‘Break Free: Young People Deciding their Future’ project, focusing on combating teenage pregnancies and child marriages in multiple African countries.
