Pushing back to keep the civic space open for women’s rights
Whether you are an individual or a Women’s Rights Organisation (WRO), WOSSO will aim to amplify your voice and provide access to participate and engage with policy makers.
Advocacy
Advocacy is at the very heart of what WOSSO stands for. We fight for change at the very highest level of government discussion. Without a platform for your voice to be heard, change cannot happen.
WOSSO gives WROs and women’s rights groups access to the most important international spaces to have their voices heard. From the G20, Sustainable Development Goal and UN General Assembly, through to The Conference of the People (COP) and Commonwealth Heads of State and Government (CHOGM), WOSSO’s aim is to feed your lived-experiences directly into international spaces.
In supporting travel, access and a top-level seat at these events, WOSSO allows WROs and women leaders to meaningfully participate in key meetings and influence policy, programmes and legislation, with British soft power and diplomatic leverage helping to protect civic space.
Knowledge
WOSSO champions advocacy rooted in the real-time experiences of women and girls.
For WROs and individuals unable to attend our key meetings, WOSSO’s Learning Hub offers comprehensive reports from these events, along with easily accessible learning materials, our newsletter, publications, and informative resources for various causes that WROs can utilize.
Our knowledge will continuously evolve and expand to fuel the advocacy endeavours of women and organisations from the Global South.
